Eastman has been making fine stringed instruments for many years and my first experience with them was with a upright bass.  We were one of their first US dealers when they came out with their line of fine archtop guitars which blew every other archtop we carried at the time out of the water in terms of both quality of voice and value. Workmanship on the first ones was good but not great but the sound, playability and value sold us. Through the years, the workmanship has greatly improved and now they are as good as it gets.

When Eastman started making mandolins a few years ago, we didn't hesitate and just ordered a bunch of them.  The mandolins were as good as the archtops and started with first rate workmanship and sound. The mandolins are so much better than anything even close price wise that we pretty much stopped selling competing instruments and advised people to save their money until they could buy an Eastman because even the least expensive instrument is top shelf.

Recently, Eastman began producing flat top guitars and at first they were nice but as is typical of Eastman's seemingly continuous improvement, that are now as impressive as their other instruments.
