Gibson and Martin are the legendary American guitar builders and the early Gibsons through the 1950's were awesome, world class instruments. Thereafter Gibson instituted design innovations such as the adjustable flat top guitar bridge, the moustache bridge and the upside down belly bridge which didn't really work and never seemed to sound quite as nice as the old small straight bridge and light built early Gibson guitars, but still they aren't bad.
Occasionally a really nice, warm ,newer Gibson turns up but these more heavily built new instruments though practical, aren't quite as sweet and woody sounding as the old ones but a lot of players who like a more dry voice still love them. The new Gibson acoustic guitars amplify nicely because of the character of their voice. If you play plugged in or like a dryer, more punchy voice, get a new one. If you play acoustically and are looking for a sweet, woody living room guitar, get an older one..... which is all we sell.
