Simple but very elegant looks, and a world-class voice. This guitar stands out as a nice one even for a Collings CJ which is a great guitar even if it's an average example. This just shimmers when you let it ring out even a little. This instrument has a loud, woody bass, but it is balanced with a stronger midrange than square shouldered dreads usually have and it sings up the neck with brilliance, big volume and clarity, but with no edginess. This one has a slightly sweet, woody and articulate voice with great note separation. A top shelf flatpicking guitar, it also has fine balance and in general Collings sloped D's are their most versatile dreadnoughts.
If it wasn't for the vision of my squinting, red faced, wife armed with a chef's knife greeting me at the door...I would have already taken it home already.
