This another new Podium model guitar built for us in the Martin custom shop. It came about when we were musing about the old 17's , the recent 17's and 15''s and thinking we could take an idea or two from each one and make a killer OOO. Since we had something on our Martin rep, we decided we should get something out of it and the result was The Podium Custom Shop OOOS Mahogany Gloss Finish . Being the guitar fools that we are, we started thinking that if the 14 fret OOO was so good what would a 12 fret sound like? How about one with a bone nut and saddle, maybe traditional bracing but with the modern neck joint to add clarity in a mahogany topped guitar?
So The Podium Custom Shop OOOS Mahogany Gloss Finish was born. Like The Podium Custom Shop OOO Mahogany Gloss Finish, The Podium Custom Shop OOOS Mahogany Gloss Finish is Honduran mahogany with the same stain as the 18GE's with a rich reddish hue rather than the more brownish red of the old 17's. The guitar is built so that the playing feel is high performance and the action is set up for versatility so flat pickers are going to like them as well as the fingerstyle players for which they are designed.
