The M2's are the loudest and some of the best instruments that National makes. They are extremenly loud, sweet and woody and just plain beautiful sounding resonators. The top and back of the M2 are made from a mahogany laminate with solid mahogany sides. The top is bound in ivoroid/black/white/black and the back is bound in ivoroid. The mahogany neck has a bound rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl fret markers and a pearloid heel cap. The solid headstock features an engraved pearloid overlay and three-on-a-plate closed gear tuners. Both the coverplate and tailpiece have a satin nickel finish.
The M2 is a great continuation of the National wood body biscuit bridge resonators. They are warmer, sweeter and physically lighter than the metal bodied instruments with much more of trombone sound.
