Well, life is good and we finally got another Kopp K-35 Adirondack that we can actually sell in the shop rather than for special orders. I forgot I ordered this one so when people called to get a K-35 they had to order one. Well imagine my surprise when a couple of K-35's showed up last week. The first one lasted two days but this one is still available. For those who don't know much about Kopps, they are about the closest thing to the 1930's Gibsons in both looks and sound. They are built light as a feather with a thin finish and using hide glue throughout. The result is one of the best Gibsonesque instruments made by anyone. This one as you may have guessed by the name is based on the 1930's Gibson J-35.
This awesome instrument has a few unusual construction features like a ribbon lining instead of slotted kerfing for a stiffer rim assembly, thinned out top around the edges, hide glue brace end mortices that perfectly fit into the ribbon lining like they grew that way, but mainly, its just great old Gibson reincarnated and its to die for.
