This is the first "Advanced Jumbo" style Fairbanks instrument and it is exquisite. The workmanship is excellent, the inlays are precise. The Advanced Jumbo style sunburst is artfully done and very authentic. It has a 4" soundhole, slightly narrower waist than the Jumbo model, "X" bracing at 105 degrees with two tone bars, 1 1/8" wide maple bridge plate and hot hide glue throughout. It has neck with a fuller vintage feel like the original but it's not a "baseball bat"
Fairbanks added just one modern build feature and that is carbon fiber reinforcing bars in the neck which are small, light and stiff which just makes guitars louder.
Finally and most importantly, it is a wonderful "Gibsonesque" instrument with great volume, balance, sustain and tonal quality to burn.
