The Collings MTO, with its oval sound hole versus "F" holes, delivers a little warmer sound but after all, it's still a Collings mandolin which are all known for brilliance, ring and volume...so its more coloration of tone. Collings mandolins are all solid wood with precision carved tops and fine quality tone woods. We usually order our MT's with gloss top and they are extremely beautiful visually adding to their extremely beautiful tone. This particular MTO has lovely silking on the top and everything you wish for in a Collings mandolin tonally. Seems like you can really fly around on the fretboard, too.
