The Collings OM-2H has Indian rosewood back and sides and a tight-grained Sitka spruce top. Collings gets a big, vintage voice from a small-bodied guitar. OM's are the loudest and most balanced of the small bodies. In addition, they are the most comfortable to play of all the guitar shapes.
Like all Collings, they have a crisp, loud, dynamic voice with a long fundamental tone (before breaking into warm resonances), which makes it easy for you and your audience to hear the detail in your playing. For the fingerstyle player, being able to clearly hear your thumb and having dominant treble string volume is the secret. You can hear your alternating bass line because of the volume and clarity that this instrument has. This guitar has a sweeter voice and a looser feel than most we've played and is a dynamite instrument by anyone's measure.
The pyramid bridge creates more resonating surface area on the top of the guitar and therefore creates a more responsive instrument. The Collings OMs with this bridge are great guitars for fingerstyle player because of this.
