The Mahogany/Port Orford Cedar Grand Concert Cutaway is the first Goodall that we have had with this wood combination and its a smoking great instrument. It has a lovely thick warm voice with the complexity throughout its dynamic range that Goodalls are known for. It has amazing sustain and a "shimmer" bordering on vibrato when you let it ring out. Port Orford Cedar is the rarest American cedar with a look more like Adirondack spruce and a little more brilliance than western red cedar. Port Orford Cedar has a total worldwide range of only about 30 by 200 miles so it is very rare and very difficult find in size that works for tops buts its wonderful tone somewhere between red cedar and Engelmann spruce.
