This 1997 custom Taylor 514c has Koa back and sides instead of mahogany and a spruce top instead of cedar. The guitar is in good condition. The action is perfect and it plays great with a warm and thick tone. It has been used by one owner who is a local fingerstyle winner!
In the 500 Series, elegance meets a clean, dynamic response. Rosewood borders the solid Tropical American mahogany body and Hawaiian koa is hand-inlaid into the rosette. Engelmann or Sitka spruce tops produce a warm, mature tone. We substitute a Western Red cedar top on the 514ce acoustic electric to make it an even more responsive fingerstyle powerhouse.
A Western Red cedar top brings extra warmth and responsiveness to our popular mahogany Grand Auditorium cutaway, a perennial favorite among fingerstylists and singer-songwriters alike.
