McPherson has combined several technological advancements including state-of-the-art bracing, a trademark soundhole and a unique cantilevered neck design. The result is a guitar with a distinctive and incredible sound.
The elliptical shape, size and location of the McPherson Guitars soundhole is the result of exhaustive testing. Their innovative, state-of-the-art bracing maximizes the available open, 'vibrating' area on the inside of the guitar face.
To top it off, McPherson's unique cantilevered neck helps to optimize top vibration. This patent pending design also offers unmatched neck stability.
So anyway, that’s the technical stuff, but to me it’s both the voice as a world-class living room guitar and performance guitar that sets McPherson’s apart. We actually lent this particular guitar to Vince Gill for a recent Minneapolis corporate event. He and Amy Grant could have asked for and received anything they wanted from us but they wanted McPhersons. Ipso facto!
The Maple and Engelmann spruce combination gives this guitar a big bass and a rich, harmonically complex midrange and great volume and clarity all the way up the neck. The treble voice up the neck has a beautiful "chiminess" to it as well. This body size is a grand piano of a guitar but it's also about as versatile as they come. It is great for flatpicking, fingerstyle or strumming.
