The custom Collings is the only one that exists which is made with hide glue. It was part of experiment Collings did to see if they wanted to offer hide glue as an option. They decided they didn't and we got the guitar. OM-3 is loud and balanced with a loose, high performance feel. This makes bending strings a one finger affair and bar chords effortless. It has a big bass with continuously balanced tone and volume up the neck, great clarity, brilliance and focus but still a smoky, woody warmth in the bass. It has a little warmer tone with a little more complexity than an OM-1 short scale (one of the best choices for country blues fingerstyle). The German top, short scale and reduced footprint bridge and lighter body build give these a hauntingly beautiful voice when you let a note or chord ring out and a shimmer almost like vibrato yet you still have the fundamental initial brilliance of voice Collings is famous for.
