After playing a Guild for 25 years or so myself, it was with great sadness that we had to drop guild as a brand because their guitars had lost their mojo (at least to a rabid Guild fan). Well guess what gang, They are back! The new American made guilds of which this is one are just great guitars and also are probably one the best values in the shop. The D-55 is rich, dark, loud, articulate, bassy, balanced, sings up the neck and it plays like silk. The difference between this one and the Dreads of the past is weight (these are lighter) and harmonic complexity (these have more of it).
