This killer instrument is the new HJ-38 Stefan Grossman guitar. Stefan wanted a guitar that had versatility. Finger picking in jail with the country blues guys, flatpicking with the cross eyed banjo pickers, grooving with the junkie jazz men, this instrument does it all well.
The only flaw I see is Stefan's signature....I thought it was Surfer Jazzman but Martin assures me that it is, in fact, Stefan Grossman. A portion of the price of each guitar is going to Stefan for penmanship lessons.
We having been passing this around and playing it all morning and this small jumbo with Madagascar rosewood back and sides and a Sitka spruce is about as good as Martins get and of course that is very good.
