The D/PW is Santa Cruz's answer to the D-28. It has many of the same characteristics of a D-28 but is built lighter. A lighter build makes it looser, with a high performance feel. This guitar is so lively you can feel it on your stomach (if you are built like me) or your chest (if you are in shape). This particular D/PW has a big bluegrass bass sound and it sings up the neck. Its voice has the subtle complexity of a traditionally-voiced instrument. Even though it would make a heck of bluegrass guitar, I think "singer/songwriter" when I play it and it's also enjoyable to play fingerstyle on because of the low action.
