My first world-class guitar was a standard Santa Cruz OM just like this and to this day, when one comes into the shop, I can't wait to open the case and grab the guitar. I believe the OM is Santa Cruz's best and most versatile guitar, although I confess that I have the biases of an OM and a fingerstyle fanatic. The Orchestra Model is a small-body, light guitar with a very complex voice and there are few better as "living room guitars". The balance of the OM favors the bass to midrange, inviting comparison to a small dreadnought, but a good fingerstyle OM also sings up the neck as does this one. The OM has become a favorite of fingerstylists because of the immediacy and comfort that smaller body depths provide but they also deliver considerable power, enough so many flatpickers own them as well. Workmanship on this one is right up there. We also upgraded the tuners to Waverly's.
