I don't know what's going on at Martin....they must be taking "smart pills". Every special edition we have received lately is actually special and not something that some MBA in their marketing department thought up. The D21 Special is another tremendous instrument. I don't know if they all are this good, but this one is rich, loud, balanced and has great sustain. Seems like it is a little more easily driven than a D28 or HD28. Being more easily driven and having more sustain might have something to do with a pyramid bridge or maybe they just sprinkled some juju dust on it. The MBA in the marketing department is probably responsible for describing the neck as select hardwood which tells you exactly nothing. Looks like Spanish cedar to me which is a good thing.
