The OMS is Bourgeois' version of the the 12 fret OOO. Mahogany with a "Holy Grail" Adirondack top, the best Adirondack spruce available and built with hide glue makes this a unique instrument. The real story though is its voice and its playing feel. The first thing that strikes me is the vibrato-like "shimmer" of its voice. You can just touch it and still get a high quality, resonant and complex voice or you can "dig in" and get a great, powerful, warm but fundamental voice for great clarity. If you play up the neck, the bell like ring of the Adirondack top is complex and powerful. The bass is clear, focused and "woody" and cuts through a fingerstyle melody line without having to be loud. If you want the bass to loud, though, digging in just a little gets you there. The relatively long scale length makes it great with altered tunings and it still has the silky, loose feel that makes you want to fly around on it in standard tuning.
